- The Cane
i was waiting for bus no 61 to go to queensway on saturday. the bus took forever to come and i was getting kinda irritated, considering that i'm already going to be late.
just when the frustration is starting to get to me, this visually handicapped man walked to the bus stop with the aid of a cane and he was going "hello. hello." trying to get someone to assist him. i wanted to go up to help him, but then something else got the better of me. the curiosity to find out if a theory is indeed true.
what is this theory? that "singaporeans are not as helpful as an expatriate living in singapore".
i scanned the bus stop and directly across me was a couple of locals, and an expatriate couple. true enough, the expatriate couple were the first to offer their assistance.
why didn't i help but instead choose to conduct this stupid little test on a saturday evening? i seriously have no idea. i guess seeing is believing. you won't believe what dicks some of us singaporeans can be until you see it for yourself. and since i didn't offer my help as well, i guess for that moment, i was just like one of them.
wei lian and maia lee: one thing i don't understand, why is he wearing a watch when he can't see the time...
